Story: There's so much you may not like about the world around you - the selfish behaviour of politicians, the traffic indiscipline, the government's meaningless sops and the faction feuds and killings. This is more of a director's movie as he gives vent to his feelings through a character who is a municipal worker clearing garbage.
Different stories are knit together to make for the movie just so that the message that needs to be conveyed reaches the audience. There are a couple of ambulance workers who reach out to help people in crisis. They do not take it as a job but as a mission to rescue people. In one such mission, a factionist also suffers injuries.
Narasimha (Shafi) is the mastermind behind the high intensity blast in the old city. He teams up with the brother of a factionist to bump him off. The factionist survives being in coma for a year after getting severely injured in the blast. Later, he sends his men after some ambulance workers to kill him for rescuing Narasimha whom they attack him in retaliation. The factionist realises that they were the very people who also saved his life in the bomb blast. Shafi gets into the skin of his role to give a convincing performance.
But it is mainly left to LB Sriram to do most of the talking in the film to make people realise the flaws around and the need to rectify them. He's got a quarter bottle in his hand most of the time but then again sermonizes on not mixing drinking and driving. He wonders at the futility of providing rice almost for free by the government when the prices of other commodities go up.
A traffic jam created by protests by a politician played by Raghu Babu makes everyone realise the selfish intentions and motives of the politician. Those who take money and liquor to do his bidding turn against him when they realise his dharnas creating traffic jams were resulting in many woes to the public.
Oh yes, there is a story that brings together an ambulance worker and a radio jockey . But their love leads to physical involvement and she becomes pregnant. When he refuses to chuck his dangerous work, she goes away from him.
The traffic jam caused by the politician's dharnas results in an ambulance gets stuck in it. The pregnant girl who mends fences with her boyfriend needs to be rushed to the hospital for delivery. She needs help. The traffic jam is finally cleared it a dramatic way and it all ends well.
Note: If the only reason why a feature film should be produced is to entertain, then this film breaks away from the notion. The idea is of the film is to critically look at some issues in today's society.
